On DVD-R (or +R) for a ONE-OFF (single-disc delivery) - this is perfect for projects that only require one final disc. This can be performed entirely using iDVD or DVD Studio Pro on the Mac, as long as you have a suitable DVD burner installed in, or connected to your system.

This can also be done using optical disc software like Roxio's Toast , which also provides an easy Macintosh solution for making DVD disc images on DVD-R disc blanks.

On CD-R if you have the right software (like Sonic's DVDIt!) and a CD-R burner (note that this will NOT make a DVD that will play in a set-top DVD player!)

On a DLT tape if your project is for Replication (mass manufacturing - this is usually for disc quantities of 1,000 and up). Most contemporary authoring software includes routines that can transfer the finished DVD file to the DLT tape format, if you have the proper drive and SCSI card attached to your system. You can also find stand-alone programs for Mac and PC that can do this.
