AUTHORING
is the name given to the process of assembling the ASSETS you have ACQUIRED and ENCODED in the previous steps.

During the AUTHORING process, NAVIGATION and INTERACTIVITY are added to the DVD Project, which allows the DVD viewers
to browse their way through the DVD program using the DVD REMOTE CONTROL.

Some typical AUTHORING SOFTWARE for Macintosh computers includes DVD Studio Pro and iDVD by Apple
and the now discontinued (but venerable) DVD Creator and DVD Fusion by Sonic Solutions.

Authoring software for PC includes Sonic Scenarist, DVDItPro!, ReelDVD,  as well as Adobe Encore DVD, and packages from Ulead DVD Movie Factory 6 and SONY
